Welcome to the digital era of biology (and to this modest blog I started in early 2005).

To cure many diseases, like cancer or cystic fibrosis, we will need to target genes (mutations, for ex.), not organs! I am convinced that the future of replacement medicine (organ transplant) is genomics (the science of the human genome). In 10 years we will be replacing (modifying) genes; not organs!

L'hôpital de demain expliqué aux ados

 Le "cœur- sabot" de Thomas.

En cette période de bac blanc pour les 1ères S3 du lycée Montaigne, dans les Yvelines, les élèves sont à cran. Madame Doisna, leur professeur de Sciences de la Vie et de la Terre (SVT) a prévu un cours hors-normes, qui en surprendra plus d'un. Un cours à l'issue duquel enseignante et élèves se verront sous un jour nouveau, grâce à Thomas, qui a une maladie génétique, celle du "cœur-sabot". Cette maladie a causé une véritable hécatombe dans sa famille ...
